Free Clinics Represent on COUNTDOWN with Keith Olbermann
On September 26th, the NAFC, the Lone Start Association of Free Clinics (LSACC) and Dr. Oz partnered together to hold a one day free clinic in Houston. Over 1700 patients received health education, exams, tests and then were matched a free clinic in their area for follow up appointments.
Nicole Lamoureux of the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) spoke to the event and talked health reform on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann. She points out while stimulus funds have made their way to federal qualified health centers, free clinics, who traditionally receive little to no state or federal support, have been left out while they struggle to serve the uninsured population.
